Projects
AADB's approach is to focus on making one village, Bangou, a shinning example of what the power of people working together can accomplish if they persevere and work towards a goal. Author James Michener said it well in his book Caravans:
"Isn't it a gripping idea, Miller, that on the day we drop our first load of rock into that turbulent river it'll have no idea of what's happening? Rocks like that have been falling off the cliffs for a million years, and it's washed them aside. But these rocks will be different. They'll be the beginning of something not even that river is strong enough to halt. And we will continue..."
"Each day we must throw similar rocks into the human river of Afghanistan. Here a school, there a road, down in the gorge of the dam. So far our human river isn't aware it's been touched. But we shall never halt until we've modified it completely."

AADB has in the past helped fund projects to build a computer lab, a public toilet, gave sports and art supplies to schools, gave a generator for the chefferie and donated money for various cultural events and as well as needy families. All thanks to your generous donations which go 100 percent village projects!
Additionally, AADB Sponsors the annual Anthony Rodriguez Scholarship which pays the school fees for the twenty best students at the Bangou-ville High School.
Upcoming projects for 2010 include a potable water well, a traditional dance/festival and an even bigger Anthony Rodriguez Scholarship!
